This series consists of student case files of Alaska Natives and others who attended the Wrangell Institute in the Territory and State of Alaska. Files typically include the student's application to attend Wrangell Institute as well as occasional photographs; elementary school report cards; transcripts; and health records which can include lists of immunizations, reports of illnesses, dental records, and x-rays. Some files contain standardized tests; correspondence with other schools, parents, and individuals; and financial records.

Wrangell Institute was an American Indian boarding school in Wrangell, Alaska, United States, operated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs for natives of Alaska. It operated from 1932 until 1975. The Wrangell Institute was established in 1932 by the United States Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) on a site a few miles south of Wrangell. In its first year, it had 71 students.
